MHA Recovery Foundation advances healing and hope for individuals, families, and communities impacted by substance use and trauma. Through culturally grounded prevention, treatment, housing, and recovery supports, the foundation strengthens wellness, resilience, and self-determination. Guided by compassion and partnership, we invest in programs that restore balance, dignity, and long-term community health for future generations across the MHA nation and beyond.

Why the Foundation Exists
Recovery services are often funded through time-limited grants and restricted funding streams. While essential, those sources do not always cover:

Services We Support

Recovery Support Services
The Foundation supports services that strengthen the recovery journey beyond clinical treatment, including peer support, prevention initiatives, family engagement, recovery coaching, and program enhancements that promote long-term stability and success.

Cultural & Traditional Healing
Funding is provided for traditional, cultural, and community-based healing activities that complement clinical services and reflect the values, traditions, and lived experiences of the communities served.

Client Assistance & Stabilization
The Foundation supports emergency and stabilization assistance such as transportation to treatment, housing stabilization, food security, clothing, identification assistance, and short-term crisis support. These essential services are often not reimbursable through traditional funding sources but are critical to sustained recovery.

Community Education & Prevention
Support for community awareness campaigns, school-based prevention initiatives, stigma reduction efforts, and outreach programming that strengthens recovery-informed communities.

Workforce Development and Staff Wellness
Support for facility improvements, equipment needs, technology upgrades, and program expansion efforts that enhance safety, access, and quality of care.

Through reserve development and endowment growth, the Foundation builds long-term financial resilience to ensure continuity of recovery services for future generations.
